Regional Director Report – October 2026

October is a great bridge month with two spectacular regional tournaments offering you the opportunity to win red and gold points in Region 3.   I plan to attend both and look forward to seeing you there.

The brand-new Poughkeepsie, New York Regional Tournament is being held from October 4^th to October 7^th at the Doubletree Poughkeepsie Hotel.  It’s not too late to plan to attend.   Click here for the flyer.

Later in the month – we get to visit an all-time favorite - the Lancaster Regional Tournament is being held at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex from October 26th to October 31^st.    Click here for the flyer.

These tournaments are both run by extraordinary volunteers – Julie Cohan is the tournament chair in Poughkeepsie and Jeanne Gehret is the tournament chair in Lancaster.   

Bridge tournaments are entirely dependent on volunteer effort and Jeanne and Julie are two of the best volunteers in Region 3.   They put in months of work in preparation for the tournament to ensure that you will have a terrific experience.  Please make sure you show your gratitude to them when you come to play.

Besides running the Lancaster Tournament, Jeanne also helps all the District 4 tournaments with planning, schedules and contracts.   She guides our new tournament chairs, shares best practices and ensures they have everything that they need to be successful.
